Clarksville Jeweler Named President of American Gem Society
For Immediate Release - April 21, 2004 - Bill Sites, CGA, owner of Sites Jewelers in Clarksville
was named President of the American Gem Society (AGS) Saturday April 5th in Atlanta. The AGS
is a professional association of fine jewelers with members in the United States, Canada and Europe.
Sites has been an active participant in the AGS since receiving his gemologist degree in 1976.
He has served three terms on the Board of Directors, worked on several committees and acted as
co-chair on the International Admissions Committee. Sites believes that his membership in the
AGS has been a key factor in the success of his business. "My participation in AGS has allowed
me to elevate the level of professionalism and service in our store" said Sites. "I am pleased
to be part of an organization who maintains high ethical tenets in relation to our business."
The AGS was founded in 1934 by Robert Shipley. It is a trade association dedicated to proven
ethics, knowledge, and consumer protection. AGS awards professional titles to members who have
passed extensive gemological examinations, established jewelry industry experience and earned an
unquestionable reputation for honesty in their community. Membership in the AGS includes access
to educational opportunities, numerous marketing programs and various tools designed to assist

retailers, 250 suppliers and 4000 individual members.
